The woman who abused a toddler is currently serving an 18-month jail term, say Malaysian Police. Their clarification comes after a graphic video showing her brutal treatment of the child went viral on the internet.
She was arrested, and her jail sentence began immediately, in accordance with Malaysian law.
In the video the woman is shown repeatedly hitting, pinching and kicking the crying toddler. Two other children can be seen looking on as she abuses the child.
